Key Issues
EDUCATION
As a board of education member, Michelle is an advocate for school choice. She believes that parents should have the right to choose the best way to educate their children for generational success.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Over the last six years, Democrats have created policies that removed criminal penalties, while tying the hands our police officers. These laws have made our communities less safe and lead to an epidemic of car thefts, street takeovers and more dangerous roadways.
As a State Senator, Michelle will bring back qualified immunity for our officers, ensure criminal penalties fit the crimes, and support youth programs to ensure that children in our communities are given opportunities to succeed and not go down a bad path.
Michelle will work to enhance a stronger and safer police community.
LOCAL CONTROL
Every town in our state is unique and has their own wants and needs, the Democratic majority in Hartford is trying to force our communities into giving up local control of planning, zoning, and education.
Government works best when it is local. Michelle will fight against policies that limit the ability to protect our towns from predatory developers, state mandates, and regional government. She will always advocate for municipalities to make the decisions that are best for them and not dictated by Democrats in Hartford.
AFFORDABILITY
As a first-generation immigrant and a mother of three children, Michelle understands the kitchen table issues facing our families in Connecticut.
Democrats in Hartford have driven up costs in Connecticut through bad policies that have increased the price of energy, groceries, gas, licensing fees, and have created deficits in the budget that will be filled with increased taxes next year. That is unless we change the leadership that represents the voices of the 24th District.
Michelle understands the need to protect critical services for seniors, veterans, and the disabled, while eliminating government waste and “special interest” political projects so that taxpayers can keep more of their hard-earned dollars.
As State Senator, Michelle will work across the aisle to create a better environment for hard-working middle-class families and the small businesses that drive our economy.
By pairing greater access to educational opportunities for the next generation by cutting red tape that adds more costs to small businesses, Connecticut can get back on track to be a more prosperous and affordable place to live, work, and raise a family.
